Sarah Buchanan
President and 4th Year Representative
Sarah has led the Collective since 2023. Sarah's hope for the SMPA is that we create a better sense of community, collaboration, and intelligent creativity. She is passionate about quality education, the future of our industry, and improving our program.
Grace Chuka
4th Year Representative
Grace is a fourth year MOPA student and active collective member since 2023. It is her hope that the collective can provide a voice for students to take ownership over their education in order to make their educational experience the most fulfilling. She hopes we can create a future of collaboration among MOPA students across all years and within adjacent CapU arts programs.


Brandon Yap
3rd Year Representative
Brandon is a third year MOPA student and has been an active member of the Collective since 2023. He is passionate about improving the educational experience and believes strongly in the Collective's role in advocating for student concerns to the faculty.
Mélusine Yerna
3rd Year Representative
Mélusine is a third-year student and an advocate for creating a safe and inclusive environment at Capilano University. Since joining the MOPA program in 2022, she has been passionate about fostering a community where all students can thrive both personally and academically, in a space where they feel valued


Roy Kim
2nd Year Representative
Roy is a second year MOPA student and active Collective member since 2023. He is dedicated to building a vibrant, student-driven community within the MOPA program. With the support of his fellow SMPA representatives, Roy is commited to leaving a lasting legacy that will positively impact the future of the MOPA program and the filmmakers that will join us for years to come.
Nicole Neilson
2nd Year Representative
Nicole is a 2nd year representative, having been an active member of the SMPA since 2023, and also works in the Capilano Blues Athletics Department as Student Alumni Relations and Events Assistant. She is dedicated to creating a supportive environment where students can take charge of their education, and foster meaningful connections that will last after their time at Capilano.
